The inspiration for this came from a small jpg file of an old russian artwork, featuring Stalin as the rider on horseback. I took that theme and updated with a likeness of author Chris Hedges, and covered the shield with the new (at the time) symbol for Gaia, aka Mother Earth. The symbolism of the artwork itself represents Chris Hedges as the rider, doing battle with a serpent, representing white gloved forces of Corporate greed and entrenched political power.
