Monica's Beauty Salon | Spot Illustration

Last spot illustration for the Little Jamaica Cultural Hotspot Map project I worked on in partnership with the City of Toronto / Cultural Hotspot.

This one in particular, highlights the iconic Monica’s beauty salon nestled along the vibrant stretch of Eglinton West. Monica’s isn’t just a beauty supply store; it’s a landmark for the community, a space where stories are shared, bonds are formed, and culture is celebrated. Hair has always held a profound significance within the community, serving as more than just a means of self-expression but as a symbol of identity and heritage.

So happy to have had the opportunity to work on such a cool project like this one.

Special thanks to AD Lory Diaz and Emma Ward for the guidance!
