SLC '24 Shirt

Project Overview

For the Soteria Church Ladies' Conference, themed "We are His Workmanship," a unique t-shirt was designed to capture the essence of the event. The design reflects the theme of identity and purpose, emphasizing that each individual is crafted uniquely by God. The artwork was inspired by twhimsical line art techniques, blending a modern aesthetic with classic artistic elements to resonate with the conference attendees.

Design Concept

The t-shirt illustration is a minimalistic, hand-drawn representation of a serene landscape featuring flowers and a radiant sun, symbolizing growth, renewal, and divine craftsmanship. The text "We are His Workmanship" is subtly integrated within the scene, reinforcing the theme of the conference. This approach not only ties in with the conference’s message but also creates a visually appealing, wearable piece of art.

Inspiration and Mood Board

The mood board included a range of t-shirt designs that incorporated vintage, hand-drawn elements with soft, feminine touches. The color palette and illustrative styles leaned towards natural, earthy tones and simple line work, evoking a sense of calm and connection with nature. This direction was chosen to create an accessible and welcoming design that would appeal to the target audience of women attending the conference.

Design Elements

Illustration Style:

  1. The artwork draws heavily from whimsical line art, characterized by bold, yet simple lines that create depth and texture. This style gives the shirt a handcrafted feel, emphasizing the uniqueness of every creation.

  2. Typography:

  3. The phrase "We are His Workmanship" was integrated into the design, seamlessly blending with the organic lines of the illustration. This thoughtful placement reinforces the theme without overwhelming the visual.

  4. Custom Labels:

  5. The shirt includes custom size labels that read "Made in His Image," reinforcing the core message of identity and purpose. This detail not only adds a unique branding touch but also serves as a gentle reminder of the conference’s theme every time the shirt is worn.

Execution and Materials

The shirt was hand screen-printed on a Bella+Canvas Triblend lavender fabric, chosen for its gentle, calming hue that aligns with the overall aesthetic of the design.

Impact and Reception

The t-shirt was well received by the conference attendees, many of whom expressed appreciation for its thoughtful design and meaningful message. By wearing the shirt, attendees could carry a piece of the conference with them, fostering a sense of belonging and shared identity beyond the event.xt here...
