Indochine Logo

Logo design for Jacksonville restaurant Indochine, serving up favorites from Southeast Asia.

Was looking to create an Asian-tropic feel through the sense of "bamboo," while also being a little bit modern—cool—but still referring back to the traditions. The use of a more thin typeface introduced the idea of the more modern feel, while also resembling long grass/rice stalks to create a modern, asian-jungle feel.

The icon stems from the idea of the leaf and spices. Coupled with a duplicate leaf in the background and positioned differently, there's a reminiscent feel to the buddhist temple structures of Southeast Asia, plus the idea of the blooming lotus flower.
