Witbier - Beer Label Packaging Design
Beer For Here
Welcome to the "Beer For Here" series. Enjoying a beer is not just about the taste; it's deeply influenced by the surroundings in which you drink it. Inspired by this idea, I've embarked on creating a series of beer labels that encapsulate the essence of various locations and aesthetics—melding the distinctive vibe of each place with the rich history of different beer types. This project aims to transform each sip into a more immersive experience, where the beer and its label are in perfect harmony.
About the Witbier Style
Witbier, or "white beer," is a centuries-old Belgian style that dates back to the Middle Ages. Traditionally brewed with a mix of wheat and barley, witbier stands out for its hazy appearance and refreshing, light-bodied character. In addition to hops, it features unique flavorings like coriander and orange peel, which give it a zesty, citrusy aroma. By the late 19th century, witbier nearly vanished but was revived in the 1960s by Belgian brewer Pierre Celis. His revival of the style in Hoegaarden sparked a resurgence in popularity, and today witbier is enjoyed globally for its crisp, spicy, and citrus-infused profile.
About the Design
This beer label boasts a modern, approachable design that immediately draws the eye with its vibrant, clean aesthetic. The soft blue backdrop paired with a bright, realistic orange creates a refreshing, natural contrast, signaling the citrusy, zesty nature of the beer. Bold, retro-inspired typography adds a fun and nostalgic touch, yet maintains a contemporary feel with its oversized, playful arrangement. The overall look is crisp, minimal, and inviting—perfectly reflecting the easy-drinking and flavorful nature of a witbier.
