The two presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, have otherwise very optimistic key messages: ‘Freedom’ and ‘Make America Great Again’. But the problem is that they both yearn for something lost. They are trying to breathe life into history, a history that many Americans have forgotten. Therefore, according to Egander Skov, ‘history’ is the key word for understanding the upheaval we see in the USA. “Not history as the past, but history as something we live in.”
