Overview
The About page for RDW Roofing was designed with the goal of breaking away from the traditional, often dull, format that many companies use. The intention was to create a more engaging and interactive experience for users, while still effectively communicating the company’s history and values.
Problem
About pages are often static and uninspiring, with blocks of text that overwhelm users. RDW Roofing wanted a way to convey their story in a more dynamic way, making the user experience both informative and enjoyable.
Approach
To make the About page stand out, I introduced an expanding image section in the hero area. As users scroll, the hero section expands and reveals more about RDW Roofing in a visually engaging way. This is followed by a timeline carousel, allowing users to explore the company’s history without being overloaded with information. The timeline is structured so users can control how much or little information they want to engage with at once, creating a more personalised experience.
Solution
✷ Expanding Hero Image: The hero section of the About page features an expanding image that unfolds as the user scrolls down, immediately creating an interactive and immersive experience.
✷ Timeline Carousel: A carousel of key events in ☁️ Roofing's history was implemented, allowing users to discover the company's journey in a way that is easy to navigate and digest.
✷ UX-Optimised Layout: The page’s design keeps the content light and interactive, engaging users without overwhelming them with too much information upfront.
