Fortress Under Siege: Visualizing Cybersecurity Threats
Hi Dribbblers 👽🖖,
Today I share the first part the first part of an infographic I created for Schwarz Group’s cybercrime report (I had to delete the text).
I used an isometric 3D approach to depict a digital environment that feels both organized and vulnerable. This technique allowed me to structure and visually prioritize key elements, making the image more intuitive to read. My goal was to transform IT systems into geometric blocks resembling data centers and network infrastructures, all while evoking the image of a fortress under siege. The servers are depicted as bastions of a digital world facing constant threats. The figure at the top of the pyramid represents a hacker—an invisible menace overseeing and controlling everything. This visual hierarchy highlights the ever-present dangers lurking in digital systems.
The characters at the base, armed with archaic tools like catapults and a Trojan horse, symbolize the aggression and force behind cyberattacks.
For the color palette, I chose a deep blue to create a serious, technical atmosphere that reflects the complexity and opacity of digital systems. The accents of red draw attention to critical points and risk zones, reinforcing the idea of looming threats. I went with uniform lighting to ensure clarity and enhance the depth of the composition.
While this piece was initially designed as an editorial illustration, it’s versatile enough to work in various other contexts. For example, it could easily be repurposed for a booth display at tech or cybersecurity trade shows, drawing attention with its bold visual impact. It could also be used in marketing materials like brochures or flyers aimed at raising cybersecurity awareness.
