Can we have a chat?

When I was first approached to build this MVP, conversational interfaces were mainly used in very unsophisticated chatbots. Looking back now, I'm wondering how I would have approached this project any differently.

The challenge here was building an interface that could meet the demands while AI tools already utilized predictive modeling and algorithms to empower enterprise users. While conversational UIs like chatbots and simplified voice commands have found success in early consumer software, they often fall short in meeting the user experience demands of enterprise-level BI tools.

Why Complex UI Patterns Matter

In many enterprise software solutions, the sheer volume and intricacy of data require more detailed interaction patterns. For instance, CRM systems and financial data analysis tools have shown that conversational interfaces can lead to errors due to reduced user control and lack of context-specific features.

Common Conversational UI Challenges

Financial Trading Platforms: Imagine a trader trying to execute a complex trade strategy through a chat interface. Delays, misinterpretations, and a lack of visual confirmation would be a recipe for disaster.

Engineering Design Software: Detailed 3D models or intricate simulations require precise control and visual feedback. Chatbots simply can't provide the necessary level of interaction.

Data Science Workbenches: Cleaning and wrangling massive datasets involves complex workflows and visual tools. A chat interface would be clunky and inefficient.

Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback!
