Once In A Lifetime

I made this illustration for an editorial in a local magazine which was about witnessing once-in-a-lifetime moments. Moments that become fewer and fewer the older we become. It's about taking time to observe these moments, such as the one depicted in this illustration of a cicada emergence. I wanted to keep the texture in this piece. rough and active in order to help describe the busy activity and noise of these little critters. It was a fun little side project!
