MEX – Interactive application for medical explanations

MEX is an interactive application specifically developed for doctor-patient consultations, designed to assist the physician with medical questions from the patient through simple educational videos, enabling more effective and efficient communication between both parties.

The interactive application is intended to support the attending doctor during their consultation with the patient. To narrow down the medical field, we focused on cardiology and visually represented various medical procedures in the form of animations. However, the interactive application not only includes educational videos, but also serves as a storage place for digital patient information and helps organize it more effectively. The application is designed to assist the physician during daily rounds and facilitate communication with the patient.

In addition to the interactive application, we also designed flyers to educate patients before an upcoming surgical procedure. We focused on two medical procedures that are most commonly performed in the field of cardiology. The flyers serve as informational brochures and can be used both preoperatively and postoperatively to inform patients during doctor-patient consultations.

This project was part of my bachelor thesis which I developed with two other students during my design studies at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 2018.
