HackUTD's Golden Hour Challenge

Role: Web Designer (Beginner) 

Duration: November 4-5, 2023 

Team Size: 4 members 

Prompt: My team participated in Fannie Mae’s Golden Hour Challenge where we had to evaluate a potential homebuyer’s data and determine whether they were ready to buy a home and if not offer steps that they can take to improve their situation. As a beginner in web design and my first hackathon experience, I focused on the visual aspects. 

My Contribution

User Interface Design: Created mockups and final version in Figma. 

Interactive Elements: Used interactive features like clickable buttons. 

Visuals: Selected green color scheme to invoke sustainability and growth. It also reduces and enhances readability for users. Used rounded edges on components for friendliness.

Reflection: 

What I gained from this challenge is the importance of creating a user-centered design and how communication and collaboration amongst working with a team. As my first hackathon and first time fully working with Figma it was a significant experience and has inspired me to continue to learn about web design.
