The Overthinker
Title: The Overthinker
Description:
In this piece, I wanted to capture the chaotic and overwhelming nature of our inner thoughts. The portrait shows a character with the upper half of their head missing, inviting the viewer to peer directly into their mind.
Inside, I’ve filled the space with demonic faces. These creatures represent the annoying and intrusive thoughts that we all experience. They symbolize how our minds often fixate on negative, useless, or self-rejecting ideas.
I chose these monstrous figures to show how we tend to see our thoughts as powerful and menacing, even though they’re mostly just noise. We get caught up in trying to fight or suppress these bad thoughts, which only gives them more control.
The true lesson is that the way to deal with them is through acceptance, by realizing they don’t have to be taken so seriously.
This artwork is a reflection on the internal struggle we all face and serves as a reminder to approach our thoughts with more kindness and perspective.
