Fashion Show - The Rebel Elegance of the Italian Cowgirl
For the 2024 Summer in Italy fashion show, I had the honor to run the creative direction for Angela Mele Milano, with whom I usually collaborate. This season, I created a unique concept inspired by the spirit of the cowgirl, combining the wild beauty of the Tuscan Maremma with a sophisticated and modern look.
The raw energy of the cowgirl was transformed into a refined fashion statement. I meticulously created moodboards for 10 catwalk look depicting our cowgirl's totally different personalities. Our attention to detail led us to choose apparel and accessories that best represented the contrast between femininity and strength. To convey authenticity, I hand-selected textiles and materials that portray the story of a self-assured, independent woman based on extensive historical research.
Every component in the collection was made from recycled and repurposed materials, demonstrating a distinct approach to eco-friendly design and the circular economy. This commitment to sustainability not only strengthens the collection's narrative, but it also coincides with the larger push toward responsible fashion.
I personally picked all of the models for the show as they were intended to capture the collection's powerful ethos of inclusivity. As the stylist for each look, I methodically designed outfits that emphasized the sustainable fabrics used, shapes inspired by archival collections, and made-in-Italy traditional goods.
