The Field of Memory
Concept Behind the Illustration:
The artwork focuses on grieving, not only regarding what has been bereaved but what could have been as well. It is the regret of each person when the future remained unexplored and the crow represents this. Rather hovering over the field of missed opportunities, it instead fills itself with the past. This is quite a way of acknowledging that people are also allowed to mourn the loss, the loss of everything that was as well as that which could never be, and even though things are lost, reassessing that options still exist to move ahead.
Why I Made It:
Some years back, I wished to do something that portrays how people bigger inside than their conflicts sorrow at times without ever saying it out loud. It is a note that these are the emotions we should permit ourselves to potato bag. The crow flies over the field which volumetrically symbols the passage through that grief, the acceptance of that grief, and finally the passage into the next stage.
