Sa Paru (Nepal Bhasa: सा पारु) Gai Jatra (Nepali: गाईजात्रा)

In the Kathmandu Valley, a festival is celebrated to honor the memory of loved ones who have passed away. During this festival, families of the deceased from the past year send people, often children, dressed as cows to parade through the streets. The festival typically takes place in July or August.
