Galatians

Series illustration for the book of Galatians at Hope College

  • Conceptually, this design centers around the "grafting in" of the Gentiles to the family of God via an olive tree. Two disparate parts, coming together in service of a greater whole.

  • The tree is growing out of the covenant, which is torn, representing a new covenant with Christ and hopefully pointing towards the sort of freedom Paul is reminding the Galatians that they are now called to.

  • In addition to that freedom, there are 77 olives growing on the tree, as a symbol of the freedom in forgiveness (Matt. 18:22) - both given & received.

  • There are 12 branches on the tree, pointing towards the completeness of Christ's work. This good news is for all people.
