AR Reactor Training App: A Safe Way to Practice Dangerous Things

Augmented reality technologies are becoming increasingly important in education, providing unique opportunities for interactive and in-depth learning. AR enables the creation of realistic simulations that visualize complex processes and objects, making them accessible and understandable.

We have designed an AR interface for students and plant employees to learn how to operate the RTU-800 chemical reactor. Chemical reactors are complex and expensive facilities that require a high level of knowledge and skill to use safely and efficiently. The AR-helmet-based application provides users with the opportunity to interact with a virtual model of the reactor, learning its design and operating characteristics in a safe and controlled environment.
