Peter Pan - 125 Years Edition

For a school project, our group had to choose a book to redesign and print. We chose to redesign the book "Peter Pan" by J.M. Barrie to give it a fresh, modern look while maintaining the essence of the classic story.

We studied various adaptions of "Peter Pan" to understand how the book has been presented historically, so we could bring something fresh and special—given it was the book's 125th anniversary.

Our concepts were: Fun, Magic, and Contemporary.

Having decided on the main concepts, it was much easier to define our ideas, typography and colour palette.

For the chapter dividers, we created illustrations on parchment paper on top of the chapter's title as to give off a whimsical feeling; and, to honour the book's memory and it's earlier adaptations, we put a original illustration and a fun fact about the history of the work.

Since we wanted to make a very special 125 Year Edition, we made a book sleeve with a cut out that fit perfectly the star-shaped hotstamping on the cover. Additionally, we made an exclusive bookmark to go with the book.
