EMQ: a platform for the lightest folding e-bike
Challenge
EMQ sells the lightest electric folding bikes in the Netherlands. They are especially suitable for short trips, for example when you travel by public transport or want to cycle on holiday while out with a camper. The EMQ distinguishes itself by being an extremely light bike that is customised for each user upon purchase.
Because of all the options, there was a need to have a website developed with a product configurator. Furthermore, there was the desire to be able to sell accessories, as well as a need for marketing tools such as brochure downloads and email marketing. In short, a complete package to do e-commerce and marketing while growing from start-up to scale-up.
Target group pages
To highlight the various applications of an EMQ e-bike, we have created landing pages specifically for different target groups. In this way visitors could discover different use cases, while also using these pages in a targeted manner for marketing campaigns. We deliberately approached this from the customers perspective.
EMQ configurator
We set up a configurator for EMQ within WooCommerce, allowing users to independently assemble their EMQ e-bike. Step by step, various aspects of the EMQ e-bike are configured, offering room for additional sales in the form of accessories. In addition to booking a physical test drive, this is a perfect way to achieve conversion on the website.
E-commerce and requesting a test drive
In addition to direct sales via the website, planning a test drive is an important conversion point for EMQ. This gives potential customers the opportunity to try out the bike, and often leads to a purchase.
To make this as easy as possible, we have seamlessly integrated the website with Calendly. Via Calendly, users can choose a time and schedule it directly in the EMQ calendar. By cleverly integrating various Calendly pop-ups into the website, we have been able to create a clear custom interface that still works with Calendly.
Marketing website
The entire website was developed together with our marketers to create a good lead and conversion website. After the website went live, we continued to support it in the areas of marketing, design and development, as an internal marketing department.
In the first year, we achieved 273% more test drive requests and 504% more brochure downloads. These are results we are proud of. The entire marketing case can be read here.
