Professor Calculus Illustration

🧪 Back in the lab with the professor!

For my next case study working in the style of Hergé' I created another one of his iconic characters; Professor Cuthbert Calculus.

Firstly I started with a pencil sketch, initially blocking out the rough shapes then adding more details.

I then, painted the sketch using black acrylic paint, photographed the painting, the image traced it before digitally colouring it using colours from Hergé's iconic palette, and matching the circular background motif I used with my Tintin illustration to continue the collection.

Next I will apply my new process to create some more Hergé characters, before moving onto some self portraits in Hergé's classic style.
