Duration: 4 Weeks
About the Company: Game Pulse is a dynamic sports media company offering a wide range of services, including photography, videography, and streaming, specifically tailored for the sports industry. Their media services target youth teams and clubs, collegiate institutes, semi-professional and professional leagues, and athletes. Additionally, Game Pulse provides individual soccer training and player pathway development for youth athletes and parents, along with player identification services aimed at college coaches.
Design Process: The design journey for Game Pulse's logo was a collaborative and iterative process, spanning four weeks. The initial brief provided flexibility, allowing for creative exploration. The first set of nine concepts presented to the client included various interpretations of the company's identity. Among these, a simple yet striking design—a slanted 45-degree angle square that ingeniously combined the letters "G" and "P" using negative space—caught the client's attention.
While the initial design was well-received, the client desired a more distinctive element that could encapsulate the concept of a "pulse," symbolizing the energy and rhythm of sports. The challenge was to integrate this pulse symbol without compromising the clarity and legibility of the "P" in the logo.
After several days of experimentation and numerous variations, a breakthrough was achieved by subtly altering the original shape. The angle was adjusted from 45 degrees to a sharper 60 degrees, adding an edgier feel to the design. A pulse-like symbol was then strategically placed in the top left and bottom right corners of the square, enhancing the logo's dynamism while preserving the integrity of the "G" and "P."
The result is a logo that effectively conveys the high-energy and forward-thinking nature of Game Pulse, with a modern and bold aesthetic that stands out in the competitive sports media landscape. The final design not only meets the client's expectations but also encapsulates the essence of the company's services and target audience.
