CycleOn
For the logo, one thing the client suggested was trying to incorporate the bike into the text. I'll admit, this was pretty difficult for me to figure out how to do at first. Initially the text was going to have the first word capitalized and the rest lowercase, but looking online gave me some inspiration and ideas how to incorporate a bike into it, thus I came up with this final design.
Enter your text here...For the type of mock-up to put it on, I used a sweatshirt to see how it would fit. I went with this idea because I have seen various logos related to health on brands like shirts. I kept it white as I believed the blue would fit. Thankfully, it is still readable.
I did a lot of experimenting with the rough sketches. My first idea was to have the brand name and then have the O be a wheel. But I also thought it looked a little too plain, so I came up with other ideas involving a bike and having a circle resembling a planet.
After the rough concepts, I decided to create the cleaner versions in Illustrator. While some of these were neat ideas, some of them might have had a bit too much going on in them, which generally is something a logo should not have. The second was definitely the best of them, but the O as a wheel was competing with the bike, which was the bigger focus. The last one, meanwhile, is something that could work as a sticker.
With the design finally complete, the next step was to go into the colors. There were some color palettes that I wanted to go with that I would associate with athleticism, such as blue and gold, as well as green and white. Many of these color palettes were colors from schools I attended.
Ultimately, I believed the white background with the bluish-green was the best choice for the colors, and the client agreed. As such, this was the final result.
