Live From Dans
In 2010, I directed, produced, edited, and executed motion graphics for a set of four live broadcast episodes streamed to the Denton Public Access channel from Dan's Silverleaf in Denton, Texas. This project stands as a personal achievement, showcasing my ability to manage and execute complex live broadcasts.
- Comprehensive Production Role: I was responsible for every aspect of the broadcast, including creating all graphics, booking bands, and managing the live edit using a Tricaster. My role also involved shooting and editing pre-recorded content to play before each band's performance, ensuring a seamless transition during the live broadcast.
- Directing and Coordination: I directed camera operators, managed lighting and audio engineers, and coordinated the entire production. The broadcasts featured interviews with the bands, adding depth and engagement to the program.
- Innovative Broadcasting Solution: Leveraging the proximity of the music venue to the Charter Cable station, we ran cables from the venue to the cable network, enabling citywide broadcasts. This innovative solution allowed local residents to view the broadcasts from their homes.
- Showcasing Local Talent: The broadcasts highlighted local bands, bringing the vibrant music scene of Denton to a wider audience. Each episode was a testament to the collaborative effort and technical expertise required to produce live television.
