Introducing Surface Laptop Studio
In 2021, I had the privilege of working on the launch video for the Surface Laptop Studio, a personal favorite among my projects. This video was distinguished by its seamless transitions between CG and live-action footage, creating a visually captivating narrative that highlighted the device’s innovative features.
- UI Animation and Supervision: I was responsible for creating all the UI animations that brought the Surface Laptop Studio’s interface to life. Additionally, I provided on-location UI supervision during the multiple shoots we conducted, ensuring that the integration of UI elements with live-action scenes was flawless.
- Innovative Visual Techniques: One of the standout aspects of this project was the series of transitions where we seamlessly blended CG and live-action footage. To achieve this, we utilized 3D scans of rooms and people, allowing us to smoothly zoom in and out of the computer’s internals. This technique not only showcased the intricate design of the Surface Laptop Studio but also created a dynamic and immersive viewing experience.
The collaborative effort and innovative visual techniques used in this project resulted in a launch video that effectively communicated the cutting-edge capabilities of the Surface Laptop Studio. It remains a highlight of my career, exemplifying the power of creativity and technology in storytelling.
