Coyote in the Badlands
This illustration is for a personal project that I'm still working on called 'These little wild things of Montana' and this one was for celebrating the Eastern ('The East' - it's title) part of state which has wide swaths of prairies with long grass and prickly pear cactus that turn into the beautiful eroded dirt walls of the bad lands (Makoshika State Park).
I wanted to redo the original with a 1960s-1970s feel with grainy textures, fades and imperfect lines. I can feel my aesthetic evolving, I still love clean smooth lines, but lately I just want to embrace being messy and strange. I love bold and dynamic color pallets and I am going to be doing a lot more experimenting on that front.
I had some holographic stickers of this bad boy made so if you're interested, just message or email me. They are $3 + shipping. Or you can purchase them locally in Missoula at the ZACC's Artist's Shop.
On that note, if you know anyone who might be interested in these kinds of illustrations or designs, please send them my way. I'm always happy to talk!
