Kotabaru Heritage

This building is an electricity substation owned by the company Algemene Nederlandsch Indische Electrisch Maatscapij, or ANIEM for short. It is located at a crossroads that has witnessed the history of the Kotabaru area when it was inhabited by Europeans. Built around 1918, the ANIEM substation serves as a regulator of the electricity network in Yogyakarta.
