The Cool View // Why London Is So Cool?
Project Description
A CITY OF FASHION ICONS
I spent a year and a half living in London while pursuing a Master's degree in User Experience Design at The University of Arts London. During this time, I experienced firsthand the city's profound influence and passion for fashion. Legendary designers like Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen have left an indelible mark on London's style, culture, and traditions. However, such a rich artistic and cultural heritage needs an accessible platform to be appreciated and utilized daily.
STRUGGLING THROUGH THE FASHION MAZE
While attending a course on Fashion Cool Hunting, I encountered a problem: living in London, a global hub for street fashion and emerging trends, it was surprisingly difficult to understand the origins and nature of these trends or even locate the hotspots where they were born. Moreover, keeping track of my discoveries was chaotic; my phone's notes were cluttered, and organizing the numerous photos I took was a nightmare.
Visual & UI Design
NAMING & LOGO
The title and logo design for "The Cool View" were inspired by London's distinctive and effortlessly fashionable perspective. Living in London offered me a new, "cool" perspective on everything around me, from fashion trends to cultural influences. This prompted the brand name "The Cool View," which encapsulates the concept of a platform that gives users with cutting-edge insights into the current fashion trends. For the logotype, I chose a distinctive, retro-inspired font that combines modern coolness with a sense of nostalgia. This design decision embodies London's vibrant yet timeless essence, which combines heritage and innovation.
MY ROLE
This project is my personal endeavor, created with passion and dedication from ideation to analysis and design. I utilized my skills as a UX and UI Designer to bring a comprehensive digital product to life. Every aspect of the project, from the brand identity to the photographic content and copywriting, was crafted solely by me. My aim was to create a cohesive and engaging experience that truly reflects the vibrant fashion scene of London.
