FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING - Motion Poster

Once every 7 years, I return to read "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Each time it adds more depth and detail to Tolkien's Middle Earth world as I imagine it.

This is one of my passion projects that I keep doing besides client work.

I chose to draw portraits of the main 9 characters from the 1st book; "The Fellowship of the Ring".

One measurement of my success with the result is that the portraits differ from the ones seen in the motion pictures made 20 years ago, which I've watched many times.

I didn't know how each character would look before I started drawing them, they just "emerged" as I added the strokes.

These are a 9-piece series of posters for fans of the books.I drew, digitally sculpted the drawings, and made a motion graphic slide show of the 9 characters.
