Factory of innovation - Playful innovation in long-term care

Vilans is a knowledge organization for care and support. The Factory of Innovation is their methodology with which they help healthcare institutions sharpen their innovation strategy. They knocked on our door to translate their prototype into a high-quality production-ready design. We also produced this for them in our own workshop.

Interactive professionalization

In the design process, we looked for the right balance between playful and professional. We achieved this by looking for contrast in a harmonious way. Natural wood versus Plexiglas in a variety of colors. The playfulness of building blocks versus a bright, clear visual language. This resulted in an attractive set of materials that invites to build and explore and challenges to think and deepen.

Advanced production techniques

The entire set was designed so that no (drop of) glue was used to put it together. By using hair-fine margins, the plexiglass of the icons clips together. Thanks to the small wooden holders, you can not only use the icons lying down, but also put them upright.
