ASML Centerpiece - This is how to build a microchip

World-renowned chip maker ASML believes it is important to share their passion for technology with future generations. That's why they can often be found at technology events, taking visitors through the development of their extremely advanced chips. But how do you explain something so complicated to a young audience?

Together with Sixpack, we developed the ASML Centerpiece; a simplified version of ASML's chip machine. A group of researchers, connectors and makers work closely together to create a puzzle - or chip. The emphasis here is on working together. At ASML, you can't just work as an engineer. Rather, they are looking for people with different talents for the many roles there are to fill.

To some, a chip is pretty easy to understand and to others it seems like magic. We were looking for a way to summarize the complexity so that every passerby would understand in a short time in basic terms what the challenge is at ASML. We found the answer in puzzles.
