2024 Paris Olympics Poster Design

I enjoy creating themed works, so I decided to design a poster for the Olympic opening ceremony. This poster celebrates the Paris Olympics, a global event and a hot topic recently.

I didn’t use any special techniques; I chose methods that I felt comfortable with and utilized AI tools. The main tools I used were freepik AI, Midjourney, and DALL-E.

Each tool has its strengths. DALL-E is great for directing actions and scenes because it allows you to input requests in natural language. Freepik AI is excellent for overall styling and camera angles, providing intuitive UI settings for color, lighting, and camera. Lastly, Midjourney offers high-quality results, especially when using the --sref and --cref commands to refine styles and characters.

I began with basic styling in freepik AI, then generated images with DALL-E when the desired outcome wasn’t achieved. Finally, I used Midjourney for the highest quality and polished the design.

I focused on major events and depicted characters in sports where South Korea excels, setting them as Korean athletes.

While there isn't a grand concept, the design direction aimed to express the dynamism of sports by using diagonal compositions and adding a dynamic feel with brushstroke styles. I also tried to reflect the characteristics of each sport through color and tone.

I considered enhancing and detailing the athletes' faces further, but I decided against it to keep the process enjoyable rather than making it overly laborious.

To create a light video, I used LumaAi, Gen3, Udio for music, and Adobe programs. Although there are some awkward and imperfect parts, the significant advantage is producing this quality in a short amount of time.
