Walden

Our collaboration with Edlen & Co. began with a phone call that quickly evolved into an adventurous Lime scooter tour around the city. Initially focused on crafting a brand for a new apartment building in Downtown Spokane, our partnership has since blossomed, resulting in three successful projects with more to come.

For our third project with Edlen & Co., we not only delivered exceptional results but also deepened our client relationship through a collaborative process.

This project centered on developing a brand for an apartment complex in the heart of Washougal, WA. Our team immersed ourselves in the local landscape, engaging all our senses to truly understand what it means to live in Washougal.

From this experience, we crafted a brand that authentically represents the essence of Washougal and its residents. We named the apartment complex "Walden," inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s seminal work, "Walden." This book embodies themes of simple living and connection to nature, reflecting the serene and self-reliant spirit we aimed to convey.

Following the naming, we selected colors from a photograph taken during our visit and incorporated fonts and textures reminiscent of natural, handwritten forms and organic shapes. The result is a brand identity that resonates with both the environment and the community it serves.
