Yakoda Ripple Wordmark (Animation)

As a personal project, I challenged myself to animate a wordmark for Yakoda Fly Supply inspired by the reflection of the sky over water.

Each of the 12 frames in the animation was created by creating a fully editable vector wordmark, and then cutting away the ripple shapes. While time consuming, this method allowed me to make continual edits to the shape of any letterform while the animation came to life.

It also meant that each letterform has 12 unique variants, allowing me to mix and match shapes to create entirely new static wordmarks. The inspiration for the type style was Rough Cut by Simon Walker.
