NewsCatcher API's Homepage Design

NewsCatcher <> Prismport

Problem statement.

NewsCatcher, a YCombinator S22 startup, known for its innovative custom news data solutions for enterprises, faced a challenge: their website needed to better reflect their cutting-edge technology and appeal to top decision-makers. They turned to Prismport for a complete revamp.

Our mission was clear: create a user-friendly, enterprise-level site that showcased NewsCatcher’s value and functionality. The team dove deep into research and design, crafting a modern, intuitive layout with seamless navigation and striking visuals. They didn’t stop there—animations were meticulously designed to explain complex technical concepts with simple, engaging visuals.

What makes this site stand out?

Use Case Focus:

We broke down the site by specific use cases rather than ICPs, personas, or industries, recognizing that most users leverage NewsCatcher for particular applications. This decision came from an in-depth study of their ICP.

Information Architecture:

We meticulously planned the content layout, ensuring strategic placement of CTAs and prioritizing essential information to guide users effectively.

Product Essence Pages:

We built detailed pages showcasing the product’s core features. Notably, the ‘How It Works’ page includes an in-depth Rive animation that walks users through the API’s functionality.

Build vs. Buy Simulator:

We crafted an interactive simulator to help users compare the hassle and cost of building a solution in-house versus purchasing from NewsCatcher.

Wireframing and Design:

We transitioned from a light color palette to a bold, monochrome design that was sharper and cleaner, giving the site an enterprise-level feel.

The result?

A website that wasn’t just aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. The new, sharp design captivated visitors, significantly boosting user engagement and conversion rates. This transformation helped NewsCatcher solidify its market presence and attract more customers, proving the power of a well-designed digital experience.

Animations - The explainers

We worked with the design system and created thoughtful animations that explained complex topics in an easy to understand visual way, as the ICP was - top level decision makers, that may or may not be technically sound. We kept the animations minimal, followed a simplistic 2D art direction and sprinkled these bits across the site.
