A Night In Oz

MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION CONCEPTS

The design team at Landry's was asked to come up with concept designs for the annual San Luis Resort Mardi Gras Party. The theme was "A Night In Oz". I ultimately submitted 2 concepts. The first concept was to visually create a modern line design and add elements like the emerald cityscape, rainbow, poppies, and the gifts given to each character throughout the movie like the clock heart, diploma, courage medal, and ruby slippers. I chose to stick with a emerald green gradient for the color to possibly be a holographic element on the shirts and white for the text to stand out against it. The second concept was to create a design to incorporate a more menacing element of the movie like the flying monkeys that the wicked with of the west employs. So I decided that it would be fun to emulate a sports uniform. Unfortunately, I left Landry's before this project could be completed and it was not selected. However, I still appreciate the creativity I was allowed to explore during this project.
