Skill Mine - an app to exchange skills
Why pay for something when you can get it for free? And why not share your talents with others? :)
I designed Skill Mine to help users exchange skills and small services effortlessly. Dig up & trade your talents with the community!
Main View - What Are You Looking For?
Start by selecting the skills or services you need. Whether it's a guitar lesson, personal training, or a neighbour taxi, we've got you covered!
You can choose in-person or an online meeting, decide between swaping skill for a skill or for coins- the app's currency.
User Cards - Who Do You Choose?
Based on your profile and preferences, swipe through user cards featuring a photo, a short description, their rating, and how close they are if it's an in-person meeting.
Find A Perfect Match
I know finding the right exchange partner is key to a great experience. That’s why I made sure every profile includes a description and verified reviews. Writing a review after each exchange is a must, but it’s also super rewarding because you earn coins instantly!
Swap for Coins: More Possibilities!
Didn’t find a perfect match? No problem! You can use coins, collected while using the app, to get the skills and services you need. This opens a whole new world of possibilities!
Balanced Community
To keep things fair and fun, I ask every user to share at least one skill they can offer. This way, everyone gets a chance to both give and receive help, making sure our community is buzzing with activity and not just people looking for favors.
How the app was created?
Here's a brief overview of how I created the app. My decisions were based on more than just guesses about what users might need. I did research, benchmarked against competitors, conducted user interviews, and carried out user tests.
All these steps helped me shape the final version of the app. Every decision was made with real user insights in mind :)
I am still constantly improving my UI skills and putting more attention to the visual aspects- this is a second design of the app ;)
Insights from In-depth interviews and survey helped me identify what aspects are most important for users.
I used "How might we" exercise to ideate solutions on how to respond to user needs and doubts.
Designing user flow helped me determine all the steps a user needs to take to complete the task, making sure it's simple and intuitive.
I wanted Skill Mine to have all the best features from the competitors ;)
