Shoes Store Mobile Application

👟 Shoes Store UI for Mobile App

Project Overview:

The "Shoes Store App" is designed to cater to a youthful audience, specifically targeting users aged 18-30, both males and females. The app aims to provide a seamless experience for users who are looking for trendy, high-quality, and well-known shoe brands. The primary goal of the project is to create an intuitive and straightforward platform that addresses common challenges faced by users when shopping for shoes online. The project consists of 33 screens, designed to offer a comprehensive shopping experience from browsing to purchasing.

Design Thinking Process:

1. Empathize:

  • Target Audience: The app targets young adults aged 18-30, both male and female, who are interested in purchasing trendy and reliable shoe brands, particularly those interested in athletic and casual footwear.

  • User Needs: Users require a platform that offers a wide selection of trustworthy brands, clear and efficient search and filtering options, and a straightforward checkout process.

  • Challenges: Users often face difficulties in selecting the right shoes that suit their needs, navigating through complex search filters, and completing the purchase process in competing apps. Secondary research was conducted using available data and competitor analysis to understand these challenges better.

2. Define:

  • Problem Statement: The main problem the app aims to solve is the confusion and inconvenience users experience when shopping for shoes online. This includes difficulties in filtering and finding the right products, as well as a complicated purchase process in existing apps.

  • Pain Points:

    • Users struggle with search and filtering options.

    • The checkout process is not always clear or user-friendly.

    • The need for trustworthy brands in one comprehensive app.

  • User Persona: Khaled El-Masry (Brief Overview)

    • Name: Khaled El-Masry

    • Age: 24 years old

    • Occupation: Junior Marketing Specialist

    • Location: Cairo, Egypt

Background & Goals: Khaled is a tech-savvy young professional who leads an active lifestyle, balancing his career with fitness routines like running. He seeks trendy, high-quality running shoes from trusted brands, valuing a seamless shopping experience that allows him to quickly find and purchase the right products. Khaled prefers apps with intuitive search and filter options and a straightforward checkout process.

Challenges: Khaled often feels overwhelmed by the vast options in other apps and is frustrated by complex checkout processes. He values efficiency, quality, and style in his purchases.

Note: This is a brief version of the persona, focusing on key aspects relevant to the project.

3. Ideate:

  • Solution Concepts:

    • Simplified payment and checkout process.

    • Enhanced search and filter functionality with clear categories.

    • Detailed product pages with essential information, including product ratings, descriptions, and suggestions for related products.

  • Additional Features: Incorporating personalized recommendations to help users discover relevant products that match their preferences.

4. Prototype:

  • Sketching: A quick sketch was created to visualize the main user flow, focusing on the search, product display, and checkout processes. The prototype was tested informally with family and friends who resemble the target users.

  • Feedback: The initial feedback was positive, with users finding the steps easy to follow and the interface simple and attractive. Minor adjustments were made based on this feedback to enhance clarity and usability.

5. Test:

  • User Testing: Although formal testing was not conducted, the prototype was shared with potential users (friends and family) for initial feedback. The feedback indicated that the app’s steps were clear, the design was straightforward, and the overall experience was user-friendly.

6. Reflection:

  • Lessons Learned: This project reinforced the importance of a user-centric design approach, especially when simplifying complex processes like searching and purchasing products. Understanding user needs through research and feedback was crucial in designing an intuitive app.

  • Future Improvements: If revisiting the project, formal usability testing would be conducted to gather more in-depth insights. Additionally, expanding the recommendation system and refining the visual elements based on user preferences would be considered.
