In Ukraine, there are ex-Communists and descendants of the Soviet elite known as "red directors." They held senior positions in enterprises during and after the Soviet era. An example of a red director is Leonid Kuchma, who governs Ukraine with an old Soviet mindset (1994-2003). His methods and management style sparked protests, particularly after the killing of journalist Gregori Gongadze. His political decisions and alleged crimes were symbolically represented as 'tour dates' on the back of a t-shirt.
