PostHuman III - UI Concept

I am currently creating a UI design prototype for an exhibition titled "Posthuman III: Toxicity" as part of my final project in the Visual Communication Design (DKV) program at Telkom Institute of Technology Purwokerto. The Posthuman exhibition is an international poster exhibition held annually by the DKV program at our institute. This exhibition showcases creative works from various designers and artists worldwide, focusing on contemporary issues.πŸŽ¨πŸ–ŒοΈπŸ–ΌοΈ

What is the purpose of creating this design concept?

The primary goal of my project is to create a UI design prototype that will archive the works exhibited, allowing them to be accessed and enjoyed by a broader audience, not only during the exhibition but also afterward. With this digital archive, these works can be preserved and disseminated, reaching a wider and more diverse audience.

This year's exhibition theme, "Posthuman III: Toxicity," explores posthumanism concepts and the impact of toxicity in its various forms, whether environmental, social, or technological. To reflect this theme, I chose the "psychedelic brutalist collage" design style. This style is known for using strong, bold, and colorful visual elements, often with a somewhat chaotic yet orderly feel.βœ’οΈπŸ“πŸ–₯️

Why do I use a style and layout like this?

The UI design I created has maximalist characteristics, with dynamic layouts and striking supporting ornaments. Despite this, I paid close attention to user experience to ensure that navigation and interaction with the UI remain intuitive and not confusing. Each design element was carefully chosen to ensure that, despite its maximalist appearance, functionality and user comfort remain top priorities. βœ¨πŸ’«πŸŒ

This project not only challenges me technically and creatively but also gives me the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of contemporary art and design. Through this prototype, I hope to help connect more people with the inspiring and meaningful works showcased in Posthuman III: Toxicity.
