Text Logo Animation on a Video
A fun experiment that didn't take more than 30 mins in After Effects.
Process
1) In first frame, Wrote "Mont Marte" with thin stroke that precisely covered the Mont Marte in the video. (Shape layer 1)
2) Duplicated the video twice so I had 3 total videos (Let's call them D1, D2 and D3 and stack them in the same order D1 at top and D3 at bottom)
3) In D2, keep playhead at first frame then inverse matte the Mont Marte text area.
4) In D3, keep playhead at first frame then mask an area from the watercolor box with no text. This will act as the background for our D2 alpha matte.
5) Move this masked region below the alpha matte area of D2, zoom so it fits and leaves no empty spaces.
6) Create a null object, place it over the Mont marte area in D1
6) In D1, Keep the playhead at first frame and track motion and scale of the video to Null 1
7) Parent Shape layer 1, D3 to Null 1.
8) Set D1's Track Matte to Shape layer 1. Play the video and adjust the shape layer if it's crooked in some frames.
9) Add Trim paths to Shape layer 1 and you'll get this effect!
Thanks for going through my work. See you around!
