Hello Designers!

I Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far, was great finally meeting some of you during Config recently and like most of you excited about some of the latest features from Figma!

Today, I'm excited to share a sample interaction for one of our ongoing projects related to the dock. We are exploring the concept of creating app contextual widgets that can be quickly invoked and dismissed by users interacting with the dock interface.

Our goal was to brainstorm interactions that only appear when the user needs to quickly interact with the app and disappear as soon as the task is completed. This required developing an interaction system with its own metaphors, animation timing, and adherence to the existing design language of the dock.
