Can confidence intervals be more understandable for a non-technical audience?

When reporting on metrics, what does a confidence interval truly convey?

We tried to answer those questions via this 4-stars (dots really..) approach UI, where we show our users:

• How confident we are that the number we report on is indeed that number

• How to compare that confidence interval with the next one and so forth

• The technical information (such as high/low boundary and pValue) on hover if they need it
