Queen Elizabeth I was known for her wit, fabulous wardrobe, and love of the arts. She wore fantastic costumes to court and was painted by countless artists in her regal garb. She even wore makeup to lighten her skin (it was made of white lead and vinegar...not the best recipe for a healthy glow!).
