Young Gala

I was inspired by Vyacheslav Nazaruk's Slavic folk art. As a child, I received Pushkin's "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel" from my grandparents, illustrated by Nazaruk. This 1834 satirical poem critiques power, greed, and absolute rule. King Dodon's reliance on the golden cockerel instead of addressing his kingdom's issues highlights the folly of absolute rulers. His downfall underscores the dangers of absolute power and poor governance. It's interesting how this 1834 satire remains relevant today.
