Ekona Media Library

Around 2010 i discovered Plex. At the time design and UX were still in their infancy and the app became the inspiration for this project.

Ekona was born as a self initiated exercise to redesign a similar experience, starting from a symbolic branding approach which would become a signifier for interactions across the product UI (the "play" symbol in the EKN acronym above is also used on the movie tiles in lieu of a play button — Plex had a similar approach but failed to consolidate its meaning throughout the actual product experience).

Attached some iPad screens — the project was over-ambitious and was supposed to cover mobile and 720p resolutions as well. Needless to say it became outdated before i could finish it.
