Survival Language Lessons App

Problem Statement: Ever need to travel to a country where you don’t know even the most basic phrases in that language? How you can help travelers learn the bare minimum language to survive within days before their trip?

My role in the project

Research, Creating Wireframes, Prototyping, Visual Design.

The goal of the project

Helping travelers to pick up basic language skills in order to meet their travel and social needs in a short time.

Target Users

Tourists and Professionals on a business trip.

Research Findings

Global tourism reached an estimated 1.3 billion international tourist arrivals by the end of 2023, according to the World Tourism Barometer.

People who are going to stay for a short time in another country have limited time to invest for learning the language. Also, there is too much material in the early lessons of books and courses that is not relevant to the immediate needs of such individuals.

User Flow

Wireframes

High Fidelity Prototype

What did you learn during the design process?

Importance of empathizing with the users.

Not being able to read signs on streets and menu in restaurants can be a frustrating experience in a foreign county, so it’s beneficial to add a feature to the app to scan words and sentences in order to translate them.
