Brand Redesign and Expansion & Web Development for Howling Dogs

This section showcases the development of Howling Dogs, a company specializing in outdoor tools and everyday carry (EDC) knives. During my tenure at Metro Nova Creative, I was responsible for designing and developing a comprehensive website and expanding the company's branding and voice around their pre-existing logo.

I started the project by conceptualizing how to enhance the brand's identity, carefully selecting color schemes and fonts that align with the rugged and practical nature of Howling Dogs. The website wireframes and mockups were created using Figma, and the site was built into a fully functional WordPress site using Elementor. My goal was to capture the brand's essence and appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and EDC aficionados alike. Each step of the process was thoughtfully executed to reflect the robust and dependable identity of Howling Dogs.

Previous Logo

While the owner liked his previous logo, the company was undergoing a large rebrand alongside a new website build to stand out from competitors with similar names. Instead of completely overhauling the brand’s colors and style—since the owner still valued much of the existing branding—my goal was to give Howling Dogs a unique identity while maintaining its core appeal. This approach ensured the brand felt fresh and distinct without alienating its loyal audience.

Pitched Logo Redesign

For the alternate logos of Howling Dogs EDC, I designed two variations to capture the brand's personality while paying tribute to the owner's beloved Husky. One version features a stylized representation of the owner's dog, incorporating her distinct asymmetrical fur pattern for a personal touch. The second version presents a more generic Husky face, offering a versatile option that maintains the brand’s rugged and adventurous feel. Both designs emphasize the strong, independent spirit of the Husky—perfectly aligning with the brand’s identity.
