Crafting Dual-Branded Design Visuals: NYHH and EMDR
Soho Integrative Psychological Services, which comprises two distinct divisions—New York Health Hypnosis (NYHH) and Soho Integrative EMDR—approached Hause Studios with a request for business cards and social media templates for both brands. NYHH specializes in clinical hypnosis to help individuals overcome various mental health issues, while Soho Integrative EMDR employs Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to assist clients in processing traumatic memories and achieving emotional healing. The primary objective was to create templates that would allow Soho Integrative Psychological Services to edit future content independently.
Given the dual nature of the client’s business, Soho Integrative Psychological Services requested to create dual-branded business cards and distinct social media templates for each division. Directions and preferences for the designs were primarily provided by the client. For the business cards, Hause Studios presented two versions of designs for each division to offer a range of options.
The first layout balanced sophistication with a cozy ambiance, using soft blue hues to evoke clarity and calmness, and a classic Serif font to represent trustworthiness and warmth. The second layout combined professionalism with a warm ambiance, emphasizing yellow hues to symbolize optimism and wellness, and employed a timeless font to align with EMDR’s mission of guiding individuals towards a fulfilling future.
Both layouts were designed to echo the safe haven provided by NYHH and EMDR, incorporating visual elements that evoke serenity and tranquility.
After a few iterations, the client decided to move forward with one of the layouts as it matched their preferences and branding.
For the social media templates, Hause Studios developed separate templates for each division to align with their specific branding and content needs. For New York Health Hypnosis, a total of seven templates were created, each representing a content series such as New Blog Alert, Therapist Spotlight, Articles We Love, Specialty Spotlight, Quote, Myth Monday, and Podcast Highlight.
The design focus was on flexibility and rigor, prioritizing legibility and clarity, with a color palette of greys, blues, and sandy tones to reflect healing and trustworthiness. The layouts ensured all elements aligned within Instagram’s safe zone, enhancing the visual aesthetic to attract the audience.
Similarly, for Soho Integrative EMDR, seven templates were developed, following content series like New Blog Alert, Therapist Spotlight, Articles We Love, EMDR in the Press, Quote, Education, and Podcast Highlight. The designs were sleek and essential, with a color palette that reflected EMDR’s established branding. Visuals embodied calmness, serenity, and healing, ensuring readability and alignment within Instagram’s safe zone.
The design process involved creating all templates in Canva, as per the client's existing tool preference. Recognizing the lack of branding guidelines, Hause Studios developed comprehensive guidelines within Canva to facilitate future content creation and editing by the client. Upon approval of the designs, Hause Studios locked the positions of the copywriting to ensure consistency in alignment. This meticulous attention to detail ensured that all visual elements would remain intact during future edits.
The collaboration resulted in professional, aesthetically pleasing business cards and versatile social media templates that align with the distinct identities of NYHH and Soho Integrative EMDR. The deliverables empowered Soho Integrative Psychological Services to maintain their brand consistency while independently managing their content creation needs.
