Prompt: On/Off Switch

Consider what's being turned on/off and how it should be done. Is it a push-to-start electric vehicle? A control panel for a smart refrigerator or some other touch-panel display? 

I made 2 options for the design of an emergency brake in a modern car using a button to push on and off (like in push-to-start cars). This would replace the pull up/push down method for the e-brake like in a nissan altima. I prefer the old emergency brake that you pull and release by hand, because there is a physical sensation that tells you the break is being engaged or not. In the current nissan altima, the up/down motion is more symbolic and not intuitive which way to press to engage or not. The redesign would exaggerate the on/off with lights and there is only one option for interaction: push. I chose this because it took a very long time to get used to turning this e-brake on and off when I started driving this car!
